The International Academy of Art Palestine
aims to be an important catalyst in the
Palestinian community stimulating creativity
and an understanding of the visual arts. The
International Academy of Art Palestine
promotes art as a powerful tool that
stimulates change by transforming cultural
attitudes. The academy’s goal is to maintain
the collective Palestinian memory, history
and cultural identity through visual art and
by creating a new images of Palestine and
Palestinians for local and international
audiences. As a cultural space the Academy
is committed to playing an active role in
the contemporary culture of Palestine by
providing educational art activities such as
workshops, seminars, art exhibitions and
public lectures and by stimulating new art
initiatives among the creative community in
Palestine.
IAAP’s work centres upon providing a specialized
education in contemporary visual art at BA level
that encompasses a broad range of subjects within
the field, from painting to performance, which is
underpinned by an understanding of art theory. The
Academy is privileged and distinguished by the fact
that local and international artist teach on its
programme providing diversity and vitality to the
institution and the community. We intend that our
students at the Academy will acquire the knowledge
to be able to contribute to the future development
of their society and to the creative industries in
Palestine and in the region.
