The International Academy of Art Palestine
will network at an international level in
the sector of arts and higher education in
creating needed international partnerships.
The Academy is engaged with the Oslo National
Academy of Arts (KHIO) as an education model to
modify available curriculum therefore enhancing the
cultural and historical requirements to
suit Palestine. The fine arts curriculum is
primarily Palestinian and richly anchored within an
Arab and Middle Eastern context. KHIO’s supervisory
team is headed by Henrik Placht, an artist himself
and instrumental in fundraising and helping create
the International Academy of Art Palestine while
serving as the main project advisor.
The International Academy of Art Palestine Project
is currently engaged with the Palestinian Ministry
of Higher Education and seeking accreditation to
grant students a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree
(B.A.) while meeting local and international
standards. Furthermore, the Palestinian Association
for Contemporary Art (PACA) has signed a memorandum
of understanding with the Palestinian Ministry of
Culture.
